A fourth straight lethargic loss in front of their home fans would not do. The Dallas Mavericks rallied from behind to take the best-of-seven National Basketball Association (NBA) championship series to Game 5.
Dallas defeated the Boston Celtics 122-84 in Game 4 of the 2023-2024 NBA Championship on Friday at the 안전 토토사이트 American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
After dropping Games 1 through 3 to Boston, the Dallas Mavs came back from the brink of elimination. Boston, on the other hand, had hoped to close out the series in Game 4 and win its 18th title, the most in NBA history, but suffered an unexpected upset that put the celebration on hold. However, Boston still has the advantage, as all 156 teams that have won the first three games in a best-of-seven NBA series have gone on to win the title.
Dallas cruised to an easy win thanks to the “one-two punch” of ace Luka Doncic (29 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals) and Kyrie Irving (21 points, 6 assists), who were on fire from the start.
Midway through the first quarter, Doncic, Irving, and Derrick Jones Jr. combined for 10 straight points to quickly open up a gap, and back-to-back three-pointers by Irving and P.J. Washington before the quarter ended gave the Cavs a 34-21 lead.
Doncic led the Dallas offense in the second quarter, scoring eight straight points, and finished with 25 points in the half. Holding Boston to just 14 points, Dallas pushed the momentum even further to close out the half with a near double-digit lead (61-35).
The game really came down to the third quarter. Doncic and Clevere continued to steal Boston’s baskets, while Irving scored 10 points to pile on the points. With the Celtics’ lead at 35 points with 1:29 left in the third quarter, Dallas pulled Doncic and Irving and brought in its bench, ready to mount another comeback in Game 5.
Leading 92-60 heading into the final quarter, the Mavs were led by Tim Hardaway, who drained five 3-pointers, and completely shut down Boston.
In addition to Doncic and Irving, Dallas received double-digit scoring performances from Hardaway (15 points), Derrick Lively (11 points-12 rebounds), and Dante Exum (10 points). Game 5 between the two teams will take place on April 18 at Boston’s home TD Garden.
