Paul Pogba (30) completely refuted the doping controversy that recently arose against him.

Italian media outlet ‘Gazzetta’ reported on the 13th (Korean time), “Pogba claimed that his recent positive doping test result was due to supplements purchased in the United States,” adding, “He may have been recommended by a doctor he was close to. “If the positive test is confirmed to be true, the club can request Pogba to terminate his contract,” the report said.

It is the biggest crisis in soccer life. On the 12th, British media ‘BBC’ reported, “Juventus midfielder Pogba tested positive for doping. Testosterone was detected in the doping test. “If he is found guilty of doping, he will be banned from playing for at least 2 years and up to 4 years in accordance with FIFA regulations.”

The team also announced the fact that the athlete was caught doping through official channels. After the report was first published by Italy’s Ansa News Agency, Juventus said, “Pogba tested positive in a doping test on the 20th of last month.

He received a preliminary suspension order from the National Anti-Doping Organization (NADO). “He is considering the next steps,” he said.

In fact, it is a retirement crisis. If Pogba is found guilty of doping, he could be banned from competition for up to four years.  지울프-토토

There are cases where he is acquitted if there is no intent, but it is very rare. Even receiving a two-year sentence, which is the minimum suspension from playing, will put a huge damper on your soccer career. Even Pogba has often missed games recently due to frequent injuries.

It was a talent that once attracted attention throughout Europe. Pogba grew up in the Manchester United youth team in 2009.

Although he was expected to make his first-team debut, then-manager Sir Alex Ferguson did not use him. Pogba chose to take on the challenge of a new stage. He headed to the prestigious Italian club Juventus.

His abilities were certain. Pogba, who received a chance at Juventus, rose to world class rank. His skills were in full bloom as he worked with legendary midfielders such as Andrea Pirlo, Claudio Marchisio, and Artur Vidal.

He was called an all-round midfielder with a tall stature, excellent athleticism, and kicking ability. He eventually pushed Marchisio out and took over the starting position.

Pogba, who conquered the Italian stage, returned to his former team, Manchester United, in 2016. Manchester United, under coach Jose Mourinho, boldly invested 105 million euros (about 150 billion won), the highest transfer fee at the time.

It was hoped that Pogba would play a key role in Manchester United’s midfield for the next few years. He even gave him the key jersey number 6.

In the early days of his career, he was in full swing. Pogba played the role of Manchester United’s engine with his bold forward passes and his activity throughout all areas of the stadium.

Coach Mourinho also actively hired him. It was exactly as Manchester United expected.

But his performance did not last long. Pogba began to struggle more and more.

Manchester United did not have players like Vidal and Sami Khedira, who worked well together during their time at Juventus. He gradually fell out of favor with coach Mourinho.

Meanwhile, transfer rumors shook Pogba every time.

The national team still showed outstanding skills. Pogba is a key midfielder for his native France, which reached the top of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

He had outstanding chemistry with N’Golo Kante (then of Chelsea). France, equipped with the world’s best midfield, won the World Cup by beating Croatia 4-2 in the final.

As he reached his prime age in his late 20s, Pogba’s football career went downhill. Controversy over his attitude arose due to his continued injuries.

In the end, Manchester United released Pogba as a free agent in 2022. Pogba headed back to Juventus.

He became a problem for Juventus. Pogba suffered from injuries even after his return to Juventus. He was also embroiled in controversy over his lack of professionalism, such as skiing while on vacation. In the 2022-23 season, Pogba played only 161 minutes in a total of 10 games.

Dedicated to his recovery, Pogba returned to action in the 2023-24 season. He was benched in the opening match against Udinese. He played as a substitute in the subsequent matches against Bologna and Empoli.

Pogba underwent a doping test against Udinese, in which he did not play. A positive response to testosterone was detected in the test. Pogba, who dreamed of his revival, is now worried about his sudden retirement crisis. Pogba’s agent is currently denying all allegations.

According to ‘Gazzetta’, the player must re-request an ingredient analysis to prove his innocence within 3 days. If Pogba still tests positive for doping, Juventus could request to terminate his contract. Pogba is currently under contract with Juventus until 2026.
