Korea will host an International Skating Union (ISU) World Cup Short Track Speed Skating event for the first time in six years this week, a chance to showcase some of its top skaters on home ice.Mokdong Ice Rink in Seoul will be the stage for the fourth leg of the six-event World Cup season from Friday to Sunday. Mokdong also staged the previous ISU World Cup Short Track Speed Skating in the country in November 2017.Korean skaters have been successful so far this season. Kim Gil-li and Kim Gun-woo are currently leading the women’s and men’s overall World Cup standings, with 615 points and 534 points, respectively. At the season-opening World Cup in Montreal in late October, Korea collected four gold medals: Kim Gil-li in the women’s 1,000 meters, Park Ji-won in the first men’s 1,000m, Kim Gun-woo in the second men’s 1,000m, and Hwang Dae-heon in the men’s 1,500m.

Back in Montreal for the second World Cup later in October, Kim Gil-li picked up gold in the women’s 1,500m, while Seo Whi-min won gold in the women’s 1,000m. On the men’s side, Kim Gun-woo and Park Ji-won went gold-silver in the second men’s 1,500m final, while Hwang and Kim won silver and bronze in the first 1,500m final.At the third World Cup stop in Beijing last week, Kim Gil-li and Kim Gun-woo extended their gold medal-winning streak by winning the women’s and men’s 1,500m races.They later helped Korea grab silver in the women’s 3,000m relay and the men’s 5,000m relay. Park, the men’s overall champion last season, added a silver in the men’s 1,000m in Beijing.Korea has yet to win a relay gold medal. The women’s and men’s teams each won silver in Beijing. The women’s team also grabbed silver in the second Montreal race, after the men’s team won silver in the first Montreal competition.In the 2,000m mixed relay, Korea has won 온라인카지노 one silver through three tries so far.
