SEOUL, South Korea (Yonhap) – The PBA Team League is set to kick off with a number of changes. The PBA will kick off the first round of the Welcome Savings Bank PBA Team League 2023-2024 at the Kintex PBA Stadium in Goyang City, Gyeonggi-do, on Wednesday, beginning a seven-month campaign that will include five rounds and the postseason. The biggest change this season is the addition of new teams. The addition of the HiOne Resort Winners and Eswai Bazar brings the total number of teams to nine and allows for more games per round from seven days (28 games) to nine days (36 games).This season also sees a change in the competition rules .The league 바카라사이트 standings, which were based on points, will change to zero points. The winning team will receive three points and the losing team will receive zero points, and in full-set (seven-set) matches, the winning team will receive two points and the losing team will receive one point .The postseason format will also change, with the winners of each of the five rounds advancing to the postseason to crown a champion, as opposed to the four teams that won or finished runner-up in the first and second rounds .In the event of a tie, the second-place team in the regular season standings will advance to the postseason .Postseason brackets will be based on the overall regular season standings, eliminating the top team head-to-head advantage that was in place until last season. On Opening Day, Blue One Resort and Welcome Savings Bank, who met in last season’s postseason championship game, will open at 12:30 p.m., followed by Hana Card-Eswai (3:30 p.m.), Huon’s-SK Rent-a-Car (6:30 p.m.), and Haiwon Resort-Crown Hae Taey (11 p.m.).The PBA will host the PBA Team League Media Day on Feb. 2 at the Kintex PBA Stadium in Goyang, a day before the start of the team league.
