Professional soccer’s K League 1 Gwangju FC has made ‘outnumbered’ Gimcheon Sangmu a sacrificial lamb for its second straight win.

Gwangju defeated Gimcheon 2-0 at home in the 17th round of the Hana Bank K League 1 2024 at Gwangju Stadium on Friday, thanks to relay goals from Park Tae-joon and Uhm Ji-sung.

With their second straight win, Gwangju (22 points) moved up one spot to sixth place, 현금홀덤사이트 knocking Jeju United (20 points), who have played one game less, down to seventh.

Gimcheon (30 points), on the other hand, saw their 11-match unbeaten run (five wins and six draws) dating back to the previous round come to a halt.

Early in the first half, Gimcheon led the offense.

Gimcheon was unlucky to have Park Seung-wook’s powerful mid-range shot saved by the goalkeeper in the 23rd minute.

Gimcheon was caught outnumbered in the 36th minute when Cho Hyun-taek made a rough back tackle on Gwangju’s Jung Ho-yeon, prompting the referee to show Cho Hyun-taek a red card.

After a scoreless first half, Gwangju pounded on the one-man Gimcheon goal and finally broke through in the 30th minute of the second half when Park Tae-joon headed in a cross from the left flank by Jung Ho-yeon from the front of the goal area.

With momentum on their side, Gwangju forced Gimcheon to surrender in the 43rd minute when Uhm Ji Sung dribbled forward from the left side of the penalty area, neutralized three defenders, and scored with a right-footed shot.
