New Jersey Gov. James McGreevey was joined by the executives of Harrah’s Entertainment, Inc., the state’s largest hotel and its first resort east of Las Vegas as of May 22. In addition to McGreevy, the ribbon cutting ceremony was attended by Phil Satre, Harrah’s chairman and chief operating officer, Gary Loveman, Harrah’s president and chief operating officer, Tim Wilmott, Harrah’s Eastern Division president, Dave Jonas, Harrah’s senior vice president and general manager for Atlantic City, Senator William Gormley of New Jersey, and Atlantic City Mayor Lorenzo Langford.

“Great things are happening in Atlantic City, and we are optimistic about the future of this market,” said Satre. “Harrer has always been a leader in Atlantic City, and we are very proud to be bringing our first Las Vegas-style casino resort to the burgeoning Marina District.”

The new 452-room Bayview Tower in Harrah’s is the most obvious of many first-time buildings the company has built with a $200 million investment in coastal areas. Serving as a beacon for the Atlantic City skyline, the tower features a unique light show with 42 different light configurations that can be seen for miles.

“New Jersey welcomes the annual $200 million investment in Atlantic City,” said Governor McGreevy. “This project will provide visitors with another popular attraction while creating new jobs and revitalizing the economy.”

Visitors access the accommodation via a new pebble grand entrance modeled after the Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia. Under the Forte Casher, customers enjoy separate drop-off and pickup locations for seamless traffic flow. An auto-rotating door leads to a sprawling Las Vegas-style grand lobby decorated with imported Italian marble, rich timber, art decoration columns, and brass layout, and a stained glass dome 30 feet above the rotunda, located right next to a new slot area with 450 slot machines.

The new hotel tower has 36 bay view suites from 22 to 24 floors and eight super suites on the 25th floor. The new front desk registry has 19 separate stations located in front of the three aquariums, each 7ft high and 20ft wide and packed with school fish.
